Dear Friend,
For the longest time, I believed I didn’t have a hobby. Whenever people asked me what I enjoyed doing, I would smile awkwardly and change the topic. Life felt like a cycle of work and responsibilities, and I never gave myself the space to explore what truly brought me joy.
One day, during a particularly stressful week, I walked past an art store. Something about the colors and brushes in the window caught my attention. On impulse, I bought a small canvas and a set of paints. I didn’t know what I was doing — I just wanted to try.
That evening, I sat down with my new supplies and started painting. At first, it was messy and unplanned, but as the colors blended, I felt something shift inside me. For the first time in a long time, my mind was quiet. I wasn’t thinking about deadlines or worries; I was simply creating.
Since that day, painting has become my go-to hobby. Whenever I feel lonely, discouraged, or overwhelmed, I pick up my brushes and let the colors speak for me. It’s not about perfection — it’s about peace. Painting reminds me that beauty can come from chaos, and that creativity is a form of healing.
So don’t worry if you don’t know what you’re doing — just keep trying, and you’ll see the door will open for you. Doubting yourself is valid, but proving that doubt wrong is the big challenge everyone should take at least once.
If you’ve ever felt like you don’t have a hobby, I encourage you to explore. Try something new, even if it feels unfamiliar. You might discover a part of yourself you didn’t know existed.
Your mind deserves moments of calm. Your soul deserves joy. And sometimes, all it takes is a splash of color to find both.
Kind Regards,
Nidhi
